PT's Deep 27 Flower Dripper Brew Guide

Cafec's Deep 27 Flower Dripper is the latest addition to our brewing arsenal at PT's. It's one of the simplest ways to enjoy pour over coffee at home, the office, or on the go.

Its unique shape, with a steep bottom angle of 27°, is designed specifically for single-cup pour overs. No need to control the water flow around a wider bed—pour continually in the center to enjoy a rich, sweet cup.

Things you’ll need:

  • Deep 27 Flower Dripper and filter
  • Burr grinder
  • Gooseneck kettle
  • Digital scale that measures in grams
  • Whole bean specialty coffee

Brewing parameters:

  • Brew time: ~3 minutes
  • Coffee: 15g
  • Water: 230g
  • Coffee to water ratio: 1:15
  • Grind: medium (Auto-drip)
  • Ideal water temperature: 195-200°F

Step 1

Place your pour-over brewer on top of a mug or server. Insert a Deep 27 paper filter, rinse it with hot water to preheat the brewer and remove any paper taste, then discard the rinse water.

Step 2

Weigh out 15g of coffee, grind it medium (similar to an automatic drip grind) and add the grounds to the filter. Gently shake to level the coffee bed.

Step 3

Place the brewer and server on a scale and tare to zero. Start your timer.

Step 4

Slowly pour water in a circle until the scale reads 30g, fully saturating the grounds. Allow the coffee to bloom for another 10 seconds.

Step 5

Pour to 50g, then pause for 10 seconds. Pour to 100g, then pause for 10 seconds. Pour to 150g, then pause for 10 seconds. Pour to 200g, then pause for 10 seconds. Finally, pour to 230g.

Step 6

Allow the water to finish dripping through the coffee bed. The brew should complete around 2:45–3:00.

Step 7

Remove the brewer, discard the filter and grounds, and enjoy your coffee.
