Peach, marshmallow, and dried mango aromas introduce this velvety coffee. When sipped, the dried mango joins with flavors of caramel, walnut, and lemon balm. We found a delightful canned peach acidity and mango sweetness in the cup, and a rich finish of clove and honeycomb.

This coffee was a September 2024 Roaster's Choice selection.

From our friends at Cafe Imports:

"Buncho Washing Station is one of 16 stations and four dry mills owned by Daye Bensa, the company founded by Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo. Asefa Dukamo is the first-born son of a coffee-producing family. As a teenager, he worked odd jobs after school to earn income before returning to coffee. He began purchasing harvested coffee cherry from nearby relatives, village neighbors, and his own parents to transport and sell to the few washing stations in the area. While traveling the long miles to market, he dreamed of building his own washing station nearby, hoping to reduce the producer’s transportation time and costs and improve the freshness of the coffee.

"In 1997, with the help of investors, he opened his first washing station less than a mile from his parents' house. He continued building more stations, moving to Daye town in the Bensa District, and by 2002 his Qonqana Station was the largest in the region.

"Asefa partnered with his brother, Mulugeta, to form Daye Bensa Coffee. They are now one of the largest coffee exporters in Ethiopia and the winners of several Cup of Excellence awards."
