Layo Taraga Organic Washed
Honeydew, Walnut Brownie, Green Grape
A high-grown Organic offering from Guji Zone! Aromas of oatmeal raisin cookie and pear lead to notes of honeydew and walnut brownie in the brewed cup. The round body with crisp green grape acidity coalesces into an aftertaste of lemongrass and nutmeg.

Located in Uraga Woreda, in the northern part of Guji Zone, the 1,814 smallholder members of Layo Taraga Cooperative grow coffee in gardens around their homes in semi-forested environments at a staggeringly high elevation of over 2,300 meters.
Founded in 1976, the coop enables its smallholder members to make a living producing coffee in Guji, where coffee prices have historically been lower than the neighboring Gedeo or Sidama zones because of a lack of market access.
Farmers deliver cherry to the central washing station, where they are pulped and undergo a single fermentation spanning 45 hours. Drying takes about 12 days on raised beds.
